TUCSON, Ariz. — The annual "Badges and Backpacks" event is launching as a drive-up event this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will take place over 4 days and at 4 different locations.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department is partnering with El Rio Health to hand out supplies.
According to a Facebook postabout the event, students will need to be present to receive a backpack.
All four events will start at 8 a.m. and end at 10 a.m. or until supplies last.
- August 1st - Flowing Wells High School
- August 2nd - Sunnyside High School
- August 8th - Cienega High School
- August 9th - Rincon High School
A walk-up station will be available for those using other modes of transportation.
