Posted

The University of Arizona says two federal grants totaling $3.9 million will help bolster training of students to provide health care in rural communities and other areas deemed to be underserved.

Officials say the grants provided for the Arizona Health Education Centers and the Advanced Nursing Education Workforce grants will provide hands-on training opportunities for students who will become future clinicians.

The U.S. Department of Health Services is funding the grants announced Wednesday.
