Roomettes Vs. Bedrooms

Prices differ depending on if you and your travel buddy are sharing a roomette or a bedroom. To be sure you book what’s best for you, it’s important to know the difference between the two.

The Amtrak blog explains that a roomette is a private area well-suited for two people. By day, you can each sit together and have plenty of space to pull out your laptops and other gadgets. Then, when it’s time to get some shut-eye, the two seats come together to make a bed, and a bed pulls down from overhead as well. It’s like bunking when you were a kid. Who’s calling dibs on the top bunk?

A bedroom, on the other hand, might be better suited for longer distances, as it’s got plenty of room for two people plus any baggage you might have. There are two beds and even a private bathroom — so consider this your hotel en route!
