TUCSON, Ariz. - The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for high-elevation areas of Southern Arizona Wednesday and Thursday.
Heavy snow is expected in the mountains, with as many as 15 inches of snow above 7,000 feet. Elevations above 8,000 feet could see as many as 25 inches of snow.
Affected areas include the White Mountains, Galiuro, Pinaleno, Chiracahua Mountains, Dragoon, Mule, Huachuca, Santa Rita, Catalina and Rincon Mountains.
The warning started at 11 p.m. Tuesday and goes until 11 p.m. Thursday.
Travel will be difficult on mountain roads. Gusty winds and blowing snow are possible.
