Excessive Heat Warning extended through Aug. 27

TUCSON, Ariz. — The National Weather Service extended an Excessive Heat Warning for Southern Arizona through Thursday.

The warning, which started Monday, ends at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Temperatures are expected to rise to as high as 112 degrees in the Tucson metro area, Western Pima County Tohono O'odham, parts of Pinal County and upper Gila River Valley.
