From their website:
We call the Shootout the tournament with a heart. The special Friday & Saturday night events — the Opening Ceremonies, Parade of Athletes, Soccer Olympics, and Spirit Cup — were designed by founder Bill Viner so that players, coaches and families could enjoy an evening of camaraderie. He wanted participants to get to know their competition off the field and to have more fun — plus, more chances to win gold and silver. The tournament also honors one of Tucson soccer greats, Dick Geibner, by selecting top teams to play in the Tournaments featured Dick Geibner Highlight Games on Kino Sports Complex Main Stadium. The shootout is Tucson Soccer’s biggest youth event on the best fields in the state of Arizona. The Shootout brings together top notch facilities, high level competition, and the unique team building experience of the soccer olympics.
We look forward to hosting new and returning teams for another year full of competition and fun-filled activities in 2019.
