Arizona will host Northern Arizona to start the season on Saturday with some fresh faces on defense.
Defensive end Kylan Wilburn, linebacker Tony Fields II, defensive back, Lorenzo Burns, and safety Scottie Young are all atop the depth chart at their respective positions. Wilburn, Fields, and Young are true freshmen.
"We didn't have to scale back as far as schemes because the young players have learned so quickly," said head coach Rich Rodriguez. "There was a lot of competition in camp."
On other offensive side of the ball, Brandon Dawkins 'or' Khalil Tate is listed as the starting quarterback, though Dawkins is expected to start against NAU.
The Wildcats set the school record for points with 77 in a win over the Lumberjacks two years ago.
