Arizona Athletics introduced its new take on the C.A.T.S Awards Banquet, hostsing The CATSYS Wednesday nigth in the McKale Center.
Arizona letterwinner and Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton served as the master of cermonies.
The CATSYS is the athletics department’s take on The ESPYS and included live music from recording artist Kelley James, a red-carpet entry, an innovative set-up to transform McKale, and some new awards voted on by the student-athletes.
Softball's Katiyana Mauga and volleyball's Penina Snuka shared the Ruby Award for top female student-athlete. Track and Field's Aaron Castle eraned the Sapphire Award for top male student-athlete.
The women's basketball program earned the Ahletics Director Cup for Community Service.
