Wilhelmsen made his MLB debut with in 2011. In between, he was out of baseball and spent time as a bartender at a Tiki Bar in Tucson called the Hut.

Wilhelmsen spent the first five seasons of his MLB career with the Mariners before being dealt to the Texas Rangers.
