Tanque Verde '03 Boys Soccer is off to a strong start in the western regional by defeating host Seattle 2-0 on Monday.
Jayden Westmorland put Tanque Verde on the board with a goal on a direct kick outside the box in the 34th minute. Luis Zasueta added another in the 54th minute as the Arizona state champions came out victorious.
Coach Bel Haouala and his team didn't arrive in Seattle until Sunday after their initial Alaska Air flight was cancelled. Haouala, and some of the boys, are staying at school dormitory in order to save money.
Tanuque Verde '03 boys is a team made up of all-star soccer players from all over southern Arizona.
