Top seed, Sabino, advances to the 3A title game after defeating #12 Empire 6-3 Saturday night at Amphi High School.
Empire got on the board first in the 3rd inning, after a leadoff double off of Tyler Wiltshire. And Ray Aguirre capitalized with an RBI single to plate the games first run.
But Sabino exploded in the bottom half of the inning, scoring 5 runs in the inning.
The Sabercats ended up winning 6-3. They advance to the 3A state title game on Monday, and will play Sahuarita, who beat Casteel on Saturday night.
