Former athletic director, Greg Byrne, returned to Tucson on Saturday night for the Arizona, Alabama basketball game at McKale center. The Cats may have gotten the win, but Greg Byrne was the star off the court.
KGUN 9's Erica Weston spoke with Byrne about his return to Tucson, and his impressions of the college basketball scandal with the FBI's investigation in the fraud and bribery scheme.
Byrne has 2 kids that remain students at the UofA, so he hopes to frequent for visits. He also said his wife, Regina, is close friends with Sean Miller's wife Amy, and they are big fans of the Miller's and Arizona basketball.
Byrne insisted that fans of the program continue to support the basketball program, even in the wake of uncertainty of the investigation.
The Wildcats will play the return game of the home and home series next December in tuscaloosa.
