CDO has won the class 4A state title with a 4-2 win over Sunrise Mountain at Farrington Stadium in Tempe.
Halle Morris pitched a complete game for the Dorados, who scored three runs in the first inning that included an RBI triple by Ellessa Bonstrom."
"We all bond super easy and just go out and and play," said Morris. "It's great to be part of this team."
"It's such a great group," said head coach Kelly Fowler."They're very respectful. They work so ahrd every day. Their easy to coach. When you get a team that's easy to coach and they just want to compete, it's fun."
The game was delayed in the first inning for thirty minutes due to lightning. It's the Dorado's 9th championship in school history, the third for Fowler as coach.
