Arizona freshman free safety Scottie Young Jr. is practicing with the team following last week's arrest on a domestic violence charge.
"We've consulted with all the appropriate authorities including the dean of students and Scottie Young Jr. is participating in all team activities," said head coach Rich Rodriguez.
Questions arose following last year's dismissal of backup running back Orlando Bradford, who was charged with ten felonies and five misdemeanors. At the time, Rodriguez said that if any player puts his hand on a woman, he's done from the team.
"Every situation with all of our players is evaluated differently," Rodriguez said on Monday.
Young Jr. and his girlfriend were each cited with one misdemeanor. He is scheduled for arraignment on October 11th.
Young Jr. has been an impact player on defense as a true freshman. He's third on the team with twenty tackles on a unit that has exceeded expectations thanks in part to four true freshman starters.
The Wildcats visit Colorado on Saturday.
