TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona Cardinals say owner Bill Bidwill has died at the age of 88.

Bidwell brought pro football to the state in 1987 when he uprooted the team from St. Louis. The Cardinals played in Tempe until 2006, when they moved to Glendale.

Bidwill's 54-year-old son, Michael, serves as the team president.
