TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — The oven is hot at Dedicated bakery. It is a busy week for the vegan and gluten free sweets shop. Owner, Jennifer Kinkade, said it is a surprising turn after a slow year.

"It's great to hear the phones ringing. All three lines are ringing. We're all pitching in and taking orders," said Kinkade.

The orders are being placed ahead of Valentine's Day. The bakery is whipping up a variety of themed treats.

"We are featuring conversation heart sugar cookies, which were gluten free and vegan. They say cute things on them like 'bee mine' or 'love you a latte,'" said Kinkade.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the bakery is offering curbside pickup and making other adjustments indoors.

"We distanced our tables. There are only about four spots where you can sit inside. We have four tables outside," said Kinkade.

For the main course, Hotel Congress has a few COVID-safe options. The hotel is accepting reservations for a "take-and-bake" meal. The kit comes with a variety of items, typically served at one of their restaurants. Couples can enjoy it in the comfort of their own home.

"You will cook with your sweetheart at home and have fun cleaning your dishes. It's a four-course menu and it comes with a bottle of champagne," said Hotel Congress Private Events Director, Melissa Matriss.

Hotel Congress is also offering package deals on rooms. Staff are preparing rooms with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne for couples.

"After our guests check out, the hotel rooms are under UV light for twenty-four hours. Our occupancy is a little lower to make sure that it is safe in the rooms," said Matriss.
