APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say an Apache Junction man has been arrested in connection with the death of his wife.

Police say 30-year-old Carl Hansen is being held in the Pinal County jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.

His bond has been set at $275,000.

Police say Hansen called last Wednesday morning to report that he had just returned home from work and found the body of his 29-year-old wife, Kassondra Maloney.

They say the woman had obvious signs of trauma on her body.

After an autopsy, the county Medical Examiner's Office declared the death to be a homicide.

Police say Hansen was interviewed and identified as the suspect in the case.

It's unclear if Hansen has a lawyer yet.
