Update: 56-year-old man dead after apparent road rage incident on Westside

UPDATE (8:20 a.m., June 21):

An apparent road rage incident on Tucson's west side left one man dead Thursday.

Pima County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the area of West Ajo Highway and South Kinney Road at around 4:20 p.m., according to a news release from the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

Upon arrival, deputies found 56-year-old Martin Bloom with a gunshot wound, the news release said. Bloom was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, 77-year-old Robert Ryan, had left the area before deputies arrived, but was located shortly after, the news release said.

Ryan was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to the intersection of Ajo Hwy and Kinney Rd. in reference to a shooting call.

The investigation remains in the early stages, with little to no information about the shooters that were involved.

Westbound travel on Ajo Highway is restricted to one lane at Kinney Rd.
