An early-morning wreck that closed northbound Interstate 19 north of Nogales has now been cleared.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, Diego Garcia drove a silver 2011 Jaguar at more than 100 miles per hour on I-19 when he hit the back of an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol Mitsubishi sedan.
The Jaguar then hit the guardrail and concrete barrier on the east side of the road before careening into the median.
The Border Patrol agent was taken to the hospital and treated for back injuries. Garcia was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail and will face aggravated DUI and aggravated assault charges.
