A deadly traffic accident that closed a highway near Douglas Monday morning has been cleared.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, State Route 80 was closed in both directions between mileposts 367 and 369, east of Douglas.
An Arizona Department of Public Safety official said a Chrysler 300 went off the road and hit a telephone pole off of eastbound State Rout 80 at Washington Ave. The driver, 28-year-old Luis Majalca, who is believed to have been intoxicated, is dead.
