TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — A Monday morning wreck shut down the intersection of Anway and El Tiro roads.
Around 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Anway Road and El Tiro Road for a report of a crash that involved two vehicles, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
The investigation determined a Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Anway, which ultimately collided with a Ford Ranger pickup that was traveling eastbound on El Tiro, according to the department. The driver of the Ford Ranger pickup was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was then taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to the department, the driver of the Toyota Camry was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Camry was identified as 60-year-old Vanessa Gomez.
According to the department, Gomez was cited for causing serious injury or death by moving violation.
On July 12, the driver of the Ford Ranger died at the hospital. The driver has been identified as 63-year-old Charles Willingham II.
The investigation is ongoing.
