TUCSON, Ariz. — A 13-year-old girl died after a pickup truck hit her near Valencia and Swan Roads Tuesday.
Pima County Sheriff's deputies shut down the intersection while they investigated the wreck, which happened at 4:30 a.m. The victim, Angelica Herrera, was crossing southbound on the west side of the intersection when the truck hit her. She was transported to the hospital, where she later died.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No charges or citations were issued.
