TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson police say a woman injured in a February hit-and-run has died.

According to police, 71-year-old Rosa M. Diarte died March 16. She was involved in a Feb. 8 wreck near East 29th Street and South Mountain View Avenue.

Diarte was driving a 2005 Kia passenger car, pulling out of an apartment complex in the 4800 block East 29th Street and making a left turn onto westbound 29th Street when the car was rear-ended by a 2016 Dodge Ram traveling at high speed.

The impact forced the Kia off the road to hit a street light.

Police found the Dodge Ram minutes later, then arrested 57-year-old Jorge Serrano for felony charges related to DUI, as well as leaving the scene of the wreck.

More charges will be added.
