A woman was injured in an apartment fire Friday.

According to Andy Skaggs of Tucson Fire, the call came in at 7:42 a.m. from the 6100 block of East Pima. The smoke alarm went off and there was a fire in the back room that filled the apartment with smoke.
The woman and cat both escaped, but the woman was hospitalized. The cat is in custody of Pima Animal Care and expected to survive.
