Tucson police have made an arrest after an Uber driver was shot while dropping off a passenger in midtown Monday.
TPD says at 2:15 a.m. they responded to East Grant Road and North Columbus Avenue for a report of a shooting.
Multiple citizens called 9-1-1 to report that shots were fired in the area.
As officers arrived, they spoke with two adult men. One told police he was an Uber driver and was dropping off his passenger in the 1900 block of North Madelyn Avenue.
Shortly after the driver arrived on scene, several shots were fired into the side door and window of his vehicle with what appeared to be birdshot.

Police say the driver immediately fled the area with his passenger to the convenience store at 4301 East Grant Road where he called 9-1-1.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The passenger in the car was not hurt.
Police say during this time, another adult man was in the 1900 block of North Madelyn Avenue and encountered a man who pointed a shotgun at him.
The victim had fled the area and also contacted police.
Officers quickly located a man matching the description provided to them and he was detained without incident.
Officers then canvassed the area and located a shotgun and other items of evidence.

The man arrested has been identified as 29-year-old Larry Nichols.
He was arrested for three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Nichols was transported and booked into the Pima County Jail.
Detectives say it does not appear the Uber driver or passenger were targeted.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
