UA freshman football player arrested in domestic violence incident

Arizona freshman safety Scottie Young was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a domestic violence incident.

Young has starred on the field as a true freshman. He has started all four games and is third on the team with twenty tackles. Pro Football Focus has Young graded as the No. 5 freshman in all of college football.

Young is facing one charge of misdemeanor assault/knowingly causing injury and is scheduled for arraignment on October 11.

Arizona Athletics released the following statement:

"We're aware that Scottie Young was charged with a misdemeanor, as was the other party involved. We are working with the University's Dean of Students Office to gather more information."
