Two sentenced to prison in toddler death case

TUCSON, Ariz. - Two suspects connected to a 2016 toddler death were sentenced to prison Friday.

Erick Torres Henry and Maria Annette Alvarez were both sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.

Both pleaded guilty to charges of child abuse, circumstances likely to cause physical injury or death, as well as failing to timely seek medical attention.

Henry, who was credited for 991 days served, took a plea deal Feb. 15, followed by Alvarez -- who has credit for 525 days served -- Feb. 22.

Henry has served his full sentence and will not face additional time.

Both were arrested in 2016, when 20-month old Adam Mada was found dead in the 14300 block of West Rolina.

Henry, Adam Mada's uncle, originally faced a homicide charge, in addition to child abuse.

Ambrosio Veranza Pavon, Leticia Elizabeth Henderson, Leticia Henderson and Alejandra Loretta Campas also face charges in connection with the death.
