Tucson Muslims Condemn NYC Attack

Say violence does not reflect true Islam

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Local Muslims are condemning the New York attack.

They say the killing of innocents does not fit the teachings of the faith they know.

Umer Bin Shalid of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community says, “Islam does not allow or teach you to do these kind of things at all.  In Koran, God says, the Holy Book Koran, God says, “If you kill one person you kill whole humanity, so this is the teaching of Islam and how a Muslim can kill somebody is totally against the teaching of Islam."

Umer Bin Shahid says radicalized groups are behind the attacks and they do not represent Muslim communities that have played peaceful parts in American life for many years.
