Tesla laid off as much as nine percent of its Tucson workforce last week.
The company would not reveal how many employees lost their jobs.
"We are not discussing individual teams or sites in relation to the 9 percent staff reduction made last week," said a Tesla spokesman via email. "However, cuts to the overall energy team at Tesla were in line with or below our larger organizational rate of 9 percent."
Tesla Supercharger is located at 9255 S. Rita Road.
