Tucson Electric Power warned customers about a scam in which con artists impersonate TEP employees to steal information.
According to the utility, the con involves texting, phone calls, letters and visits asking for payment via prepaid cards.
More than 1,400 customers have been targeted, and more than a dozen customers were victimized.
Those who receive suspicious messages should call TEP at 623-7711.
