TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson police say a teenage boy will be charged in a murder back in May on the southside.

Police say 14-year-old Rene M. Yanez, who police arrested after fleeing from the scene of the crime, will face a first-degree murder charge for the killing of 18-year-old Julian Zepeda.

On May 24, police were called the area near 5500 South Forgeus Avenue, across from Las Villas De Kino Apartments.

Upon arrival police found Zepeda inside a vehicle with signs of gunshot trauma.

On May 30, gang unit detectives responded to the Pima County Juvenile Court and Detention Center, where Yanez was being held.

Yanez was then booked into Pima County Jail and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
