TUCSON, Ariz. - Target will close a midtown location in June.
According to a company spokeswoman, the location at 5255 E. Broadway will close June 1.
"The decision to close a store is not made lightly," the spokeswoman said in a statement. "We have a rigorous process in place to evaluate the performance of every store on a regular basis, closing or relocating underperforming locations as needed. Typically, a store is closed as a result of seeing several years of decreasing profitability. Our team is one of our greatest assets and we work closely with them whenever we close a store. All eligible store team members will be offered the option to transfer to a different Target store in their area."
Target's seven other Tucson locations will remain open.
