A Sierra Vista man was sentenced to 10 years in prison in federal court as part of a plea deal related to a child sex crime.

Authorities say 23-year-old Matthew Demond Lyons tried to get a 16-year-old girl to travel with him to Arizona from Minnesota. He promised the girl food, drugs and shelter and asked her to send nude photos of herself. He also asked her to call him "daddy."

The girl boarded the bus in Minnesota and was on the way to Arizona when law enforcement found her.

Lyons pleaded guilty to attempted transportation of a minor with intent to engage in prostitution or any criminal sexual activity, aiding and abetting.  He will be required to register as a sex offender once he's released from prison.

The FBI worked with local sheriff's and police departments on the case.
