Suspect arrested in Easter homicide

Tucson Police have arrested a man in connection with a homicide that happened near Oracle and Roger on Easter evening.

According to police, 24-year-old Maurice Patterson is the suspect who shot and killed 22-year-old Eloy Moore after a confrontation that took place in the Target parking lot located at 4040 North Oracle Road.

Police found Patterson leaving an apartment in the 7400 block of East 22nd Street on April 7.

They followed him to a nearby recreational center where he was taken into custody without incident.

Later that evening, Patterson was admitted into the hospital for personal medical issues unrelated to his arrest.

He was released from the hospital and booked into the Pima County Jail on Friday on charges of First Degree Murder and Prohibited Possessor.
