Pima County officials are warning people of a stranger danger after a local boy says a man tried to lure him into his car when he got off the bus Wednesday afternoon.

Karina Aguila, the mother of the 7-year-old boy decided to allow her son to take the bus to and from Vesey Elementary School.

Aguila says, everything was going well until his son came home and told her "something scary had happened."

"I was waiting for him to get home and I was waiting for him at the door." says Aguila. Adding, "when I opened the door, he was scared with tears down his face and I asked him what happened."

She says, her son said, "a guy tried to tell him to go into his vehicle."

The mother called Pima County Sheriffs Department which in turn notified the Tucson Unified School District.

The principal of Vesey Elementary, Jeffrey Uhrig sent letters to each parent emphasizing that safety of their students is their number one priority.

In a statement to KGUN 9, Uhrig says,

"Vesey would like to convey that the safety of students is our number one priority.  When we were informed of this incident we immediately contacted district leadership and school safety to request patrol presence at the bus stop.  I immediately crafted a letter to parents to inform them of the situation and began stranger danger prevention to each class.  First thing this morning, I instructed all of my teachers to have a conversation with our students about stranger danger and we also had our counselors visit all classrooms to alleviate any fears the children may have had. Also reinforcing common sense strategies that will ensure the safety of our students as they travel to and from school.  We are thankful for the swift action of the parent in contacting law enforcement and we are continuing to work together provide the safest possible environment for our students."

PCSD says they're looking for a Hispanic older man in his 50's who is thin and bald.

The vehicle is described as a grey 2-door old model vehicle with a black panel on the truck..

Deputies searched the area of Bullfinch and Razorbill on the Westside of Tucson and did not find a man.

If you see a suspicious man - your are asked to contact police immediately.
