The Arizona Department of Transportation is warning motorists about dangers of driving in wet roads soaked by Hurricane Newton remnants.
Here are the tips the state offers:
- Inspect your wipers before you drive.
- Turn on your headlights.
- Drive slowly and keep a safe distance between you and the car ahead of you.
- Avoid sudden hard braking, and favor slowing down by easing off the gas.
- Avoid pooling water.
- Give trucks and buses extra room.
- If you find yourself hydroplaning, ease off the gas until you regain traction.
