UPDATE (11:58 a.m., March 13):
Tucson Police issued a news release with more information on the fatal crash that took place on Thursday on Tucson's south side.
According to the news release, a Ford Bronco driven by a 22-year-old man failed to stop at a red light at Drexel Road while traveling southbound on South Campbell Avenue. The Bronco crashed into a 2013 Hyundai Elantra that was heading eastbound on Drexel.
The crash caused the Bronco to roll over, ejecting the front-seat passenger, identified by TPD as 24-year-old Natalie Michelle Gutierrez. She was not wearing a seatbelt, the news release said.
TPD determined the driver of the Bronco was not impaired at the time of the crash. He was charged with the criminal offense of causing death due to failing to stop at a red traffic light.
The investigation is ongoing.
