TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Officers continue to search for a man whom they say sexually assaulted a woman pushing a stroller on Wednesday.

Police have released a composite sketch of the sexual assault suspect with hopes that someone in the community can identify the man.

The Tucson Police Department says it happened around noon Wednesday near Tucson Boulevard and Commerce Center Place.

Police say a woman was walking home from a store near South Tucson Blvd. and East Drexel Road with an infant and stroller and was in a wash area in the 2300 block of East Calle Arroyo Lindo when she was approached by man. The man had a gun and forced her to a nearby path, where he then assaulted her.

The man then left the area on foot.

Authorities say the baby in the stroller was not hurt. The woman is being evaluated at the hospital.

Police used a helicopter and officers on the ground to search for the suspect.

According to Mary Veres, spokesperson with Sunnyside Unified School District, some schools were put on lockdown due to the police activity. Los Amigos Elementary School was placed on lockdown for several hours.

Police added Thursday that the man is believed to be in his late teens or early 20's and has a thin mustache. The man may have been in the area of East Bilby Road and South Campbell Ave. to South Country Club Road between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Those with more information should call 911 or 88-CRIME.
