SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. - Sierra Vista police say someone tried to tamper with a gas station.
Police say management at the Valero gas station at 3999 E. Fry Blvd. reported that someone tampered with one of the gas pumps. Police investigated the station and found that the pump had been opened but a skimmer hadn't been placed on it.
Thieves target gas pumps and place skimmers on them to steal credit card information.
Police recommend checking pumps to see if security stickers are applied. If the sticker is missing or if the sticker reads "void," they should notify gas station management.
