A previous version of this story incorrectly reported the length of Winkler's new sentence.
TUCSON, Ariz. - A registered sex offender who previously served 15 years in prison for his crimes was sentenced to serve more than 173 years for new crimes.
Patrick Michael Winkler, 44, was sentenced to 173.5 years in prison after he was found guilty of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation, three counts of unlawful age misrepresentation and one count of failure to register as a sex offender.
Walker's previous sentence was 15 years for child molestation. He was released in March 2017 on community supervision.
A year after his release, a parole officer found incriminating conversations and pictures of underage girls in one of Winker's online accounts. The officer reported the findings to police, who arrested him for violating his sex offender restrictions.
Winkler had been using the phone app "Whisper" to try to lure minors. He used a fake age in order to prey on underage girls. He did not disclose his Whisper account to his parole officer.
