TUCSON, Ariz. — Lots of Tucsonans have noticed a change at the pump -- dozens of gas stations around town are now called "Speedway."
For people from the Midwest it may be a familiar sight, but for many in Tucson it was a sudden change.
"Being from Ohio what I like seeing is everything coming out this way, now if we could have more stuff from the Midwest coming this way I'd be really happy," said one customer pumping gas.
The change is part of a 20 billion dollar merger in the gas industry.
The Arizona Daily Star reports the parent company Marathon is rebranding 91 stores in Arizona including 29 in Tucson.
"The price isn’t different enough in either direction that I’ve noticed, noticed, it’s close to my house its convenient," said Customer Charlene Mendoza. "It hasn't priced itself out of the market where I would go out of my way to go somewhere else yet."
There are several locations in Tucson already listed on Speedway's website.
