Tucson police have identified a bicyclist killed in a collision on the northwest side Monday as 25-year-old Nicholas Rizzuti.
Police say just before 11:15 a.m. officers and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to a report of a collision involving a bicyclist and a truck on West Miracle Mile and North Flowing Wells Road.
As emergency personnel arrived, they located Rizzuti with obvious signs of trauma.
Paramedics took him to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police say the driver of the truck was not injured.
Detectives responded and learned the driver of the truck was westbound on Miracle Mile in the curb lane approaching a green light at North Flowing Wells Road.
Police say Rizzuti was eastbound on Miracle Mile in the left turn lane.
Rizzuti made a left turn to head north on Flowing Wells when he was struck by the truck going through the intersection, according to police.
Investigators say neither speed nor impairments appear to be factors in the collision.
Police say Rizzuti was not wearing a helmet.
