A shelf full of unused DVDs could mean a virtual wallet filled with cash if you take advantage of trade-in programs.
Target's trade-in site accepts video games, electronics and unwanted gift cards. Enter in your items on the site, box up your stuff, print out a free shipping label and the company will issue you a gift card. You can also go to a store to do the trade-in in person.
Amazon offers a similar program, and accepts a wider variety of items, including books, music and movies. You log on to the website to get things going.
