As Good Morning Tucson anchor Samantha Cortese reports, the "Reading Rewards" program requires kids K-5 to submit an application online. One per school, per year with a valid school or library email address.

Once approved, kids get a custom reading log via email. Kids color in each day they read at least 10 minutes. At the end of the month, they receive unspecified free food in the form of reward cards Chipotle will ship directly to the school.

Pizza Hut's "Book It!" program offers similar rewards. The 30-year-old reading initiatives allows teachers to set reading goals for students. Once they reach the goals, they get free one-topping personal pan pizzas.
