Saddle Fire 90 percent contained

Firefighters have nearly finished off containment of the Saddle Fire in the Douglas District of the Coronado National Forest on Packsaddle Mountain.

The blaze is at milepost 22 off of Leslie Canyon northeast of Douglas.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, the current size of the fire is 5,113 acres. No structures are currently in danger. The blaze is 90 percent contained.

The fire began June 24th. Precipitation in the area on June 25th helped with containment of the fire. 

The cause is under investigation.
