Tucson's minor league hockey team has its first general manager.
The Arizona Coyotes, which own the team, named Doug Soetaert to the position. The Roadrunners will compete in the American Hockey League next season.
Soetaert previously worked as the Coyotes' Western professional scout.
“We are very pleased to add Doug as the General Manager of the Roadrunners,” said Coyotes GM John Chayka, in a statement. “Doug has extensive experience as a general manager and is extremely knowledgeable. He is well-respected throughout the league and we are confident that he is an ideal fit for our team.”
Soetaert played 12 seasons in the NHL with the New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens.
