TUCSON, Ariz. - A man who was registered as a sex offender was convicted of sex crimes.
According to the state attorney general, 44-year-old Patrick Michael Winkler was convicted of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation, three counts of unlawful age misrepresentation and one count of failure to register as a sex offender.
In March 2017, Winkler was released from prison after serving nearly 15 years for child molestation.
A parole officer found incriminating conversations that included pictures of underage girls in one of Winkler's online accounts.
Tucson police investigated and found child porn photos and videos on his cell phone. Police also discovered that Winkler used the Whisper app -- in which he faked his age -- to try to lure minors into sexual encounters.
Winkler faces a sentence of at least 100 years in prison when he appears before a judge at 11 a.m. Nov. 12.
