YUMA, Ariz. — The American Red Cross in Yuma is assisting aid by opening a canteen service due to a home explosion Friday.
Rural Metro Fire requested Red Cross to help after a home exploded and fire destroyed the home and caused 17 homes to lose power.
Red Cross says the explosion and fire happened near West County 14th Street in Yuma.
Volunteers from the Disaster Response Team are offering water and snacks to over 50 residents and first responders.
Red Cross wants to remind everyone that September is preparedness month, and to always have an escape plan; prepare in case of an emergency.
