Sierra Vista police arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence Monday.
Police say Keith Allen White called and told him he killed his roommate, Brian Cook, and hid the body in his bedroom closet in the 100 block of Golf Links Road.
Officers found White in the home with the blinds and windows open. There were blood trails leading from the closet to the living room, and the smell of Cook's decomposition was in the air.
Police found a heavy black suitcase near the front door. He told police that he strangled Cook to death during an argument, then stuffed Cook's body into the suitcase.
