Marana police say they have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection to the murder of his mother, according to a news release.
Police say Nathan Ray Fouts has been arrested for 1st Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Just before 9 p.m. on Thursday night police responded to a home in the 8900 block of North Valhalla Drive to check on the welfare of 62-year-old Debra Elaine Fouts.
When officers arrived, they found her dead inside with obvious signs of trauma.
Nathan Ray Fouts has been transported and booked into the Pima County Detention Center.
Marana police say the circumstances and motive surrounding the murder and under investigation at this time.
